WHITEHAIR, JOHN ROBERT - John Robert Whitehair, 87 of Tipp
City died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 in Hospice of Dayton. He was born on Oct.
13, 1922 in Fairmont, W.Va., the son of Chesley R. and Nola B. Whitehair.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in World War II. He was a
charter member of Tipp City VFW Post 4615 where he was a Past Vice
Commander. Mr. Whitehair retired in 1985 from B. F. Goodrich. He is
survived by his brother, Chesley "Bud", two sisters "Sis" and Nancy; four
sons, John R. and Deb Whitehair of Batesville, Ind.; James R. Whitehair of
Tipp City; William A. Whitehair and fiancee Paula Heeter of Tipp City and
Jeffrey L. Whitehair of Troy; two daughters, Karen J. DeHart of Troy, and
Kathy L. and Mike Gray of Tipp City; grandchildren, Julia Whitehair, Jessica
Whitehair, Tina DeHart-Williams. Tami DeHart-Kern. Minday (Gray) Webster,
Aaron Gray, Alia Gray, William R. Whitehair, and Kimberly Jo Whitehair; nine
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 64
years Josephine B. (Stewart) on Sept. 7, 2008, sister, Mildred, and two
great-grandchildren. Services were held Oct. 31 in the Blessing Funeral
Home, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in
John's memory to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420
or your local Meals on Wheels.
