WATERS, JAMES - Laura - James Waters, 80, of Laura, passed away Nov. 4, 2009, at the VA Medical Center. He was born March 19, 1929, to Harold and Esther Waters. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Jane Waters. He is survived by his son, James (Sue Wood) Waters of Tipp City; daughters, Sheryl (Dave) Bechtol of Tipp City and Diana (Greg) Shaffer of Arcanum; grandchild, Josh Bechtol; sister, Pat (Chuck) Carter of Cookeville, Tenn.; and special friend, Lois Martin of Troy; lifelong friend, Frank Slattery of Dayton. James served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Laura Lions Club and Potsdam Church of the Brethren. He was retired as a long-time carpenter. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at the Potsdam Church of the Brethren, 22 E. Cross St., Potsdam, with the Rev. Robert Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow at Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura. Friends may call two hours prior to services Saturday at the church. If so desired, contributions may be made to the VA Hospice or the Potsdam Church of the Brethren, E. Cross St., Potsdam, OH 45361. Arrangements are being handled by the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West Milton.

WATERS, JAMES - James Waters, 80, of Laura, died Nov. 4, 2009 at the VA Medical Center.  He was born March 19, 1929 to Harold and Esther Waters.  James served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Laura Lions Club and Potsdam Church of the Brethren.  He was retired as a long-time carpenter.  He is survived by his son, James Waters and Sue Wood, Tipp City; daughters, Sheryl and Dave Bechtol of Tipp City, Diana and Greg Shaffer of Arcanum; grandchild, Josh Bechtol; sister, Pat and Chuck Carter of Cookeville, Tenn.; special friend, Lois Martin of Troy; life-long friend, Frank Slattery of Dayton.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Jane Waters.  Services were held Nov. 7.  Burial was in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura.
