JONES, FLORINE E. (NEE: MEFFORD) - Florine E. Jones, 103, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at her Clayton home. She was born Nov. 2, 1905 in Adams County to Lee and Maggie Belle Mefford. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Carl C. Jones; son, Paul, daughter, Laurraine B. Lawhorn; her parents; one grandchild; brothers, Russell, Harley, Lovell, Paul Mefford; sisters, Edna Comer and Helen Hines. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard C. and Joan Jones, Clayton; daughter Rachel Sue Hoerner, Greenville; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren. Services were held Jan. 21 at Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West Milton with Pastor Bill Marker and Pastor Doug Baker officiating. Interment was in Clayton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fort Jefferson United Methodist Church, Greenville.
