YOUNG, DONALD E. - Donald E. Young, 78, died Feb. 14, 2009, at Hospice of Dayton. He graduated from the University of Dayton with an electrical engineering degree in 1962 and retired from DP&L after 32 years as an electrical tester.  He was a 1948 graduate of Versailles High School and a member of the Laura Christian Church where he served as Deacon.  He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was a past president of the Air Force Sgt. Association. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Wanda (Poling); son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Nyla Young of Blue Creek; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Larry Wolfe of Arcanum; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Marianna Teeter of Union City; brother-in-law, Lewis Poling of West Milton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Feb. 17 at the Laura Christian Church with Rev. Curt Duncan officiating.  Interment followed at Old Ludlow Cemetery. Arrangements by Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West Milton.  Contributions may be made to the Laura Deacon/Deaconess Fund or Hospice of Miami County.
