WOOD, MICHAEL R. "MIKE"
- Wood, Michael R. "Mike" age 61 of
Tipp City, Ohio died Friday August 8, 2008 at Kettering Medical Center. He
was born Sept. 22, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio to Edwin L. and Doris C. (Collins)
Wood. Mike was a plumber with A.R.C. Plumbing, was in the Army National
Guard, and belonged to the VFW in Vandalia, and Knights of Columbus, North
Port, FL. Preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his wife LaVerne
(Simms) Wood; his mother Doris C. Buckley, Atlanta, GA; children Tammatha
and her husband Scott Hutton, Port Charlotte, FL; Bradley Wood, New York;
stepchildren Leslie Young, San Francisco; Christopher Young, Dayton; and
Karen Montgomery, North Carolina. Brothers and sisters Robin (Norman)
Seubert, Greenville, OH; Kyle (Harry) Smith, Tomball, TX; Melissa (Marvin)
Reineke, Cumming, GA; Mark (Jennifer) Wood, Cumming, GA. Brothers and
sisters-in-law Jack (Darla) Simms, Morrow, OH; Joe (Anna Mae) Suarez,
Orlando, FL; Ellen Coyle, Lakeland, FL; Richard (Barbara) Simms, Plant City,
FL; Paul (Barbara) Simms, Plant City FL; David (Dorcas) Simms, Surprise,
AZ. Twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mass of Christian
burial was held Aug. 12, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, South
Hyatt Street, Tipp City. Father Marc Sherlock celebrant. Burial followed
in Forest Hills Cemetery, Vandalia. Contributions may be made to the
American Caner Society in his memory.
