VINCENT, MARGARET KATHERINE
- Margaret Katherine Vincent,
77, 2323 Erin Place, Zanesville, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007,
surrounded by her family. She was born July 29, 1930 in Baltimore, Md. but
was raised in Glen Rock Penn. Her father was a farmer who had immigrated
from Germany at the age of 15. When she was five years old, she already
knew that she wanted "to do church work" when she grew up. With that goal
in mind, she attended Nyack College in Nyack, NY, graduating with a degree
in Christian Education. While a student at Nyack, she met her future
husband, Raymond Vincent, a pastor whom she married in 1954 and embarked on
her childhood dream to serve in the church. During her lifetime she served
various churches as preschool director, teacher, choir director and a parish
visitor. Her husband was the pastor of the United Methodist Church in West
Milton from 1977 to 1981 and she served that church in a number of
capacities. She also was a teacher with the pre-school program at the Good
Shepherd Lutheran Church of West Milton. She is survived by her husband of
52 years, Raymond Vincent and her four children, Kathy (Dave) Mitchell,
Steve (Tammy) Vincent, Cyndi Vincent and Dan (Karen) Vincent. She leaves
five grandchildren, a sister and brother. She was preceded in death by her
parents, two brothers and a grandson. A memorial service was held Dec. 18
at Grace United Methodist Church in Zanesville where she had worked as
parish visitor for nine years before retiring. Care was provided by the
Snouffer Funeral Home, 1150 W. Military Rd., Zanesville.
