HARRISON, JOANN R. - JoAnn R. Harrison, of Tipp City,
passed away peacefully after her long battle with cancer on December 10,
2008 at Vista Hospice Center in Dayton, Ohio with her family by her side.
JoAnn is survived by her husband Bill Harrison, daughter Stacy Ward, son
Steve (Amita) Angelos, sister Romae (Kenneth), her brother Richard (Sherrie)
Hyatt, and grandchildren Christopher and Amber Gambrell and Hanna Lyman.
JoAnn retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1998. Over the years
she was an active member of the Dayton Kennel Club, the Scottish Terrier
Club and was a part of the Scottish Terrier Area Rescue Service (STARS).
JoAnn and her husband managed Teramoor Antiques, dealing in American Art
Pottery. JoAnn was a member of the American Art Pottery Dealers Association
and the Antiques and Collectables Association. JoAnn cared deeply for all
animals, traveling all the way to Florida so that she could swim with
dolphins and also to Alaska to see caribou, grizzly bears and humpback
whales. For a great deal of her life she raised and showed Scottish
Terriers while taking in any stray that came to visit. There was a
gathering of family and friends on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 3-5 p.m.
at Frings & Bayliff Funeral Home on Main Street in Tipp City. Contributions
may be made to Vistas Hospice or the American Cancer Society in JoAnn's
name.
