GENTRY, H. P. - H. P. Gentry, age 78, of Tipp City, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 at the Upper Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness.  He was born March 26, 1929 in Jackson Co., TN, son of the late, Abner M. & Martha D. Gentry.  HP was a retired employee of Chrysler Air Temp and a minister with the Church of Christ.  He was a member of the Tipp City Church of Christ, was a Kentucky Colonel and was a musician for over 35 years.  Preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister, HP is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary; his four children, Donald & wife, Kathy Gentry of Vandalia, Daniel Gentry of Centerville, IN, Robin & husband, Brian McGee of Wilmington & James Harold & wife, Dawn Gentry of Indianapolis; special family member, Kathy Gentry & friend, Dave Whitlock; 9 grandchildren, Kevin, Danielle, Dana, Dan, Trent, Tristin, Michael, and Elizabeth Gentry and Missy DeMoss (Nelson); 3 great-grandchildren, Shelby, Kiley & Jacob DeMoss; 4 sisters, Hellen Wood, Louvina Roberts, Harriett Franklin & Jean Freeman; 1 brother, Mark Gentry and numerous other relatives and friends.  Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan 9 at the Tipp City Church of Christ, 6460 S. Co. Rd. 25A, Tipp City with Bob Vincent officiating.  Entombment followed at Dayton Memorial Park Mausoleum.  If so desired, contributions may be made to the Tipp City Church of Christ or to the H-H Center of Hope, 1306 Garbry Rd., Piqua, OH 45356.  Arrangements by Morton & Whetstone, Vandalia.
