JACKSON, DR. JEFFREY A. - Mason City, Iowa - Dr. Jeffrey A. Jackson, 50 of Mason City, Iowa, and formerly of West Milton, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008, in Costa Rica.  He was born Jan. 10, 1958, in Troy, to John and Marjorie (Thomas) Jackson.  He will be missed and remembered by his parents, John and Marjorie (Thomas) Jackson of West Milton; his brother, Thomas B. Jackson of Vandalia; his sister, Julie A. Jackson Buckingham of Englewood; six nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andrew and Minnie Jackson, Charles and Mary Lou Thomas; and a niece. Haley Thee.  He was a 1976 graduate of Milton Union High School in West Milton and then received his bachelor's degree from the University of Akron in 1978.  He furthered his education at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine where he received his medical degree in 1984.  He began his residency at St. Luke's Hospital, Chicago, and finished in New York, N.Y.  He recently retired after 15 years of practice in psychiatry in Mason City, Iowa.  He had an adventurous spirit, he loved to travel and did so throughout the world.  He was an avid reader, enjoyed learning new things and studied many subjects.  Memorial services to celebrate his life will be at 7 p.m. Friday, at the Jackson Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St., Pleasant Hill.  Private family interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, West Milton.  Family and friends will be gathering from 5-7 p.m. Friday, until the time of services.  Contributions if so desired can be made to the donor's favorite charity.  Condolences also can be expressed to www.jacksonfuneralhomes. com.
