FOSTER, CHARLES VERNON - Charles Vernon Foster, 90,
formerly of Ludlow Falls died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at Springmeade Health
Center, Tipp City. He was born Oct. 14, 1917 in Darke County. He served
his country in the US Army during World War II, was a member of West Milton
Loge 577 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and a member of Ludlow Falls
Christian Church, Sharon Hapter 132 OES. He graduated from Stiver's High
School, retired from Dayton Tire & Rubber after 38 years and was a member of
the Miami Shelby Barbershop Chorus. He was preceded in death by his parents
Hamilton J. and Bonnie (McGriff) Foster, wife Irma "Juanita" (Britton)
Foster; brother, McGriff Foster and sister, Hannah E. (Foster) Dowling. He
is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Donald Boyd, Lima;
Myra Hutchinson, West Milton; Rita and Mark Hershberger, Lima; son and
daughter-in-law, Thomas and Sue Foster, Lima; 14 grandchildren, 21
great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby J. Foster. Funeral services will be
held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, 284 N.
Miami St., West Milton with Jerry Collins officiating. Burial will be in
Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Masonic services were held Oct. 1 at the
funeral home. Scottish Rite ring service will be held along with Military
Honors at the graveside. Memorial contributions may be made to Ludlow Falls
