WEST, JOSEPHINE "DOT" (BEAVER)
- Josephine "Dot" (Beaver)
West, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Troy and a longtime teacher,
died Nov. 13 at her Troy home. She was 90. Mrs. West earned a bachelor of
education degree from Wilmington College in 1952. She did graduate work at
the University of Dayton and Miami University. She was a teacher for two
years at Urbana Elementary School and seven years with Highland County
Public Schools. She taught in the Troy City schools for 31 years and
retired in 1974. She was a member of Stouder Auxiliary, Afternoon Garden
Club, Westbrook Garden Club, Miami County Retired Teachers, Delta Kappa
Gamma, Ohio Education Association, National Education Association and the
Troy Historical Society. Services were Monday at First Presbyterian Church,
Troy, with burial in Hillsboro Cemetery. Arrangements were by Fisher-Cheney
Funeral Home, Troy. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 20
