FLATH, REV. CLARENCE E. - Services for the Rev. Clarence E.
Flath, 75, founder of St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Carlisle and a former
pastor of Brandt Lutheran Church, were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb.
25 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield. The Rev. R. R. Garrett, Trinity
Lutheran pastor conducted services. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery,
German Township. The Rev. Mr. Flath, a resident of the Ohio Masonic Home,
died at 2:24 p.m. on Feb. 22 in Rickly Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan.
11, 1907 in Springfield. He was a graduate of Wittenberg University and
Hamma School of Theology and entered the Masonic Home Dec. 21, 1981,
sponsored by St. Andrews Lodge No. 619, F&AM of Springfield. He was founder
and pastor of St. Mark Lutheran in New Carlisle and Faith Lutheran Church,
in Jackson. Other pastorates included the church in Brandt and the
Stonecreek Ohio Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son, John of Estel
Springs, Tenn.
